Việt Nam and Singapore join hands to develop golf in both countries

The Việt Nam Golf Association (VGA) and Singapore Golf Association (SGA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) about their cooperation to develop the sport in two countries.

HÀ NỘI -- The Việt Nam Golf Association (VGA) and Singapore Golf Association (SGA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) about their cooperation to develop the sport in two countries.

Under the three-year deal, the two sides will coordinate to organise professional golf training courses for both associations' leaders and members of board of directors, sharing experiences on golf development strategy and management.

Training camps for high-performance athletes will be conducted in either Việt Nam or Singapore to focus on developing skills, physical and mental issues, and improving their tactical mind and performance under leading experts from both countries.

Friendly tournaments will be held annually so that athletes will have opportunities to exchange, learn and gain more competition experience, attaching and developing together.

Tan Chong Huat, Chairman of SGA, said the SGA side was happy with the cooperation relationship with VGA, because both associations share the same vision of promoting close relationships and promoting further promote golf activities between Singapore and Việt Nam.

This partnership would be an ideal platform for knowledge exchange through interaction and engagement between managers, members, and golfers.

He was confident that this cooperation would bring mutual benefits to both parties and to golfers in many places.

Meanwhile Bạch Cường Khang, VGA deputy general secretary, said: "In addition to sharing knowledge on best practises and players' development this MoU provides a valuable opportunity to deepen the international relationship between our two countries.

"I believe that this cooperation will bring benefits to golfers, as well as the managers and golfers of both associations. VGA looks forward to this meaningful cooperation with SGA." VNS
