BÀ RỊA - VŨNG TÀU — The Police Department of Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu Province executed a detention order for six players of the Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu football club for their involvement in match-fixing.
According to a criminal investigation, on December 24, 2023, during a match between Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu and SHB Đà Nẵng in the Golden Star Cup at Bà Rịa Stadium, the players discussed and agreed to intentionally underperform.
After the agreement, the players then placed bets on online gambling platforms that SHB Đà Nẵng would win.
The match finished in a 3-1 victory for Đà Nẵng over Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu.
