General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Tô Lâm met with Speaker of the UK House of Lords John McFall (Baron McFall of Alcluith) in London on October 29 (local time) as part of his official visit to the United Kingdom.

Party General Secretary Tô Lâm took the occasion to invite Griffiths to visit Việt Nam soon and proposed stronger collaboration in the communications work about Việt Nam’s foreign policy to CPB members and the British public to bolster understanding, and support for the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

The two first ladies shared views on art, cultural preservation and heritage development, agreeing that culture, arts and sports bridge peoples and enable broader cooperation.

Deputy Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Hu Henghua, and Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs at China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Long Zhou congratulated Việt Nam on the opening of its consulate.

Highlighting judicial cooperation as a vivid reflection of political trust and mutual support between the two nations,Chief Justice of the Lao Supreme People’s Court Viengthong Siphandon said her delegation’s visit aims to review court-to-court progress, share updates on judicial reforms, and discuss renewal of the 2008 cooperation agreement between the two supreme courts.

Việt Nam welcomes the US’ active and responsible contributions in the Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean regions, President Lương Cường said.

Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Thị Thanh Trà stressed that the new governance model must prioritise service to citizens, stating that a government close to the people is a driver for national development.

Sharing Việt Nam’s perspective on sustainable development, President Lương Cường emphasised the importance of a long-term vision and a comprehensive, balanced approach.    

To improve development efficiency, the Government should shift the growth model from extensive to intensive, placing productivity, innovation, science and technology at the core of growth.

State President Lương Cường’s visit serves a dual purpose – advancing multilateral engagement within APEC and promoting bilateral cooperation with member economies, including the RoK.

Việt Nam and Cambodia will continue to strengthen trust, comprehensive, and substantive defence cooperation, focusing on enhancing delegation exchanges, high-level and all-level meetings and contacts; improving the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms; and maintaining effective cooperation in training human resources.

Việt Nam has been an active and constructive member of APEC, making significant contributions to sustaining cooperation and ensuring the forum remains responsive to global trends. Through its initiatives, Việt Nam has helped enrich APEC’s agenda, foster innovation and reaffirm the forum’s role as a key driver of growth and economic integration in the Asia-Pacific and beyond.

The draft documents for the 14th National Party Committee highlight the country’s development achievements, identify key challenges, and set specific goals for building a fast and sustainable future for the nation, said people in Ninh Bình province.

A young Party member in Lai Châu expressed his hope that the Party will continue to adopt bold policies to improve the livelihoods of ethnic communities in mountainous areas, place greater emphasis on education and health care, and promote border trade in association with preserving the cultural identity of ethnic groups.

Leaders from both Parties underscored the need for breakthrough measures in organisational restructuring to ensure flexibility, effectiveness and efficiency in leadership and governance, contributing to the successful implementation of each Party’s congress resolution and further strengthening the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Việt Nam and Laos.

They concurred in enhancing ties among all-level courts, promoting online platforms for sharing documents and expertise, and jointly addressing cases involving cross-border factors.

President Lương Cường and the Vietnamese delegation’s presence at the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week helps demonstrate the country's strong commitment to the process of economic cooperation and integration in the Asia-Pacific region. It also reaffirms Việt Nam's role as an increasingly active, responsible, and proactive member in shaping the regional cooperation structure, ahead of its hosting of APEC in 2027.

Over the years, political relations between Türkiye and Việt Nam have deepened, reflecting Türkiye’s broader foreign policy that emphasises dialogue, solidarity, and mutual respect.
