Vietnamese contemporary dance Hoàng Hôn (Sunset) will be performed at the Opera House on September 15.

The Pasteur Institute in HCM City in coordination with the French Embassy in Việt Nam and French Consulate General in HCM City have organised a ceremony commemorating the bicentenary of Louis Pasteur’s birth with an exhibition showcasing his life and work.

Thousands of people joined in the UK Festival in downtown Hà Nội over the weekend. The musicians will play pieces by French composers Camille Saint-Saëns, Claude Debussy, Ernest Chausson, Pablo de Sarasate and Maurice Ravel as well as Vietnamese musician Vũ Việt Anh.

The contest, with the theme “Amazing Kon Tum”, is organised by the province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to introduce the landscapes, people, and culture of the Central Highlands to local and international visitors.

At the UK Festival in downtown Hà Nội last weekend, a highlight during the two-day event was British ambassador Iain Frew making scones with Vietnamese chef Phan Anh. The cake is often served with tea as part of the British afternoon tea custom.

Opening at 5am, Mèo Vạc kermis is not only a place for ethnic minority people of Mông, Dao, Lô Lô and Giáy, living on the Đồng Văn karst plateau to trade farming products and cattle, but also a destination for them to gather and share their daily life stories.
