QUẢNG TRỊ – A Bollywood film crew has arrived in the central province of Quảng Trị to begin shooting SILAA, the first Indian production to showcase the spectacular caves of Phong Nha – Kẻ Bàng and other scenic locations in the province.
The project is expected to significantly boost Quảng Trị’s image among both domestic and international travellers.
Welcoming the crew on the morning of July 30, Đặng Đông Hà, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasised that the film offers a valuable opportunity to promote Quảng Trị’s tourism potential, particularly to Indian visitors, but also to a broader global audience.
He noted that the collaboration opens up opportunities to develop film-related tourism services, encouraging closer ties between the cultural film industry and the tourism sector.
With Bollywood’s multi-billion-US-dollar industry and immense influence over Indian audiences, showcasing Quảng Trị’s landscapes in this film could reach hundreds of millions of viewers and boost Indian visitor numbers to the province in the near future, Hà noted.
SILAA is produced and managed by Rahul Bali, a prominent figure in the Bollywood industry and CEO of Innovations India. One of the film’s key objectives is to promote tourism in both India and Việt Nam, with a specific focus on Quảng Trị Province. The total production budget is estimated at around US$4 million.
The romantic action film blends a love story with themes of revenge, featuring dramatic scenes shot across Cao Bằng, Quảng Ninh, Ninh Bình, and Quảng Trị provinces.
In Quảng Trị, filming is scheduled from July 31 to August 12, with scenes set in iconic locations such as Sơn Đòong Cave, Phong Nha, Tân Hóa, Tú Làn and Hang Tiên.
On the afternoon of July 30, the Quảng Trị Provincial People’s Committee is set to host a meeting with the film crew to provide information on the province’s tourism strengths, its orientation towards sustainable and green tourism development, and its unique tourism products.
Quảng Trị authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting film crews, producers, and directors, and pledged to create the most favourable conditions for future film projects in the province. — VNA/VNS
