LÂM ĐỒNG — Boasting year-round sunshine, steady winds, and warm seas, Mũi Né in Lâm Đồng Province is fast becoming a key destination for beach resorts and marine sports tourism in Việt Nam and the Southeast Asian region.
Its natural advantages have made Mũi Né a magnet for enthusiasts of kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing, and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP). These activities not only diversify the local tourism offerings but also contribute to the area’s long-term development strategy focused on sustainability.
The destination has drawn international attention, with National Geographic Traveller recently naming Mũi Né among Southeast Asia’s top spots for water sports. The magazine highlighted its consistent dry climate, minimal storm activity, and favourable geography, making it ideal for water-based recreation nearly all year round.
Mũi Né has hosted several international marine sports events, including the PWA World Cup Windsurfing Tourand the annual Mũi Né Fun Cup. Experts praise the area for its excellent wind and wave conditions, considering it one of the best locations in Asia for water sports.
The destination continues to leave a strong impression on visitors. Adam Fulrord from Canada, a frequent visitor over the past eight years, said Mũi Né’s ideal sporting weather keeps him coming back. Meanwhile, Lexandra from Germany noted the area’s safety, professionalism, and charm, calling it one of the top recommendations for marine sports in Asia.
Mũi Né offers visitors a blend of natural beauty and cultural charm beyond just sports. From white-sand beaches and stunning dunes to traditional fishing villages, there's much to explore. Currently, over 380 tourism establishments operate in the area, many of which are situated along the coast, seamlessly combining local hospitality with modern amenities.
The recent administrative expansion of Mũi Né, including the addition of Hàm Tiến Ward and Thiện Nghiệp Commune, has increased its development potential. Local authorities aim to transform it into Việt Nam’s “resort capital” and an international marine tourism hub.
In the time ahead, Mũi Né will continue to prioritise green tourism and marine ecosystem protection.
