The 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, hosted by the National Assembly of Việt Nam and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), has opened in the capital city of Hà Nội, Việt Nam, on Friday.

The robust Việt Nam-US relations bring benefits to both nations, US ambassador said, stressing the US want to stand side by side with Việt Nam in the latter’s efforts to have a digital economy by 2030, become a high-income nation by 2045, and realise its net-zero target by 2050.

During his 12 years working as Deputy Minister of National Defence, Vịnh made many contributions to promoting the development of Việt Nam’s defence diplomacy, for example, in sending forces to participate in UN peacekeeping mission, organising a series of ASEAN defence and military conferences.
