The State President stressed that amid ongoing conflicts and tensions in many regions around the world, the ASEAN member states must work together to maintain a peaceful environment for development.

Cuban FM Bruno Rodríguez stated that the Party, State, and people of Cuba treasure the unwavering solidarity as well as spiritual and material support from their Vietnamese counterparts.

The Party chief stressed that Việt Nam considers its solidarity, support, and cooperation with Cuba as a responsibility and a moral obligation, serving the benefits of both nations and contributing to progressive movements worldwide.

The two countries' diplomats also pledged to boost coordination in organising the Việt Nam-Cuba Friendship Year 2025 to celebrate the 65th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The two leaders discussed a range of bilateral issues, including cross-border crime, citizenship for individuals of Vietnamese origin in Cambodia, and efforts to enhance border security and cooperation.

Border security remained a key focus, with both countries working closely to address border-related incidents and facilitate demarcation efforts along their shared land boundary.

The increasing interdependence among nations poses an urgent need for joint efforts to deal with both traditional and non-traditional challenges, a Vietnamese diplomat noted.

NA Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn highlighted this session as a significant milestone in legislative development, playing a crucial role in streamlining the political system.

The resolution, consisting of 11 articles, aims to mobilise all lawful resources, speed up the implementation progress and effectively utilise land resources for the metro projects.

The resolution consists of five articles and takes effect immediately, following it being passed on February 19.

The amended Law on Organisation of Local Governments and Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents were approved with over 95 per cent of deputies voting in favour.

Both sides acknowledged the positive progress in collaboration between Guangxi and Vietnamese localities, in line with the growing Việt Nam – China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the Việt Nam – China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

The top Cuban diplomat expressed the profound gratitude of the Cuban Party, State, and people for the solidarity and practical support that Việt Nam has extended recently, particularly in agriculture and food security.

To deepen bilateral relations, Vietnamese deputy foreign minister Lê Thị Thu Hằng proposed both sides continue to step up all-level delegation exchanges, especially those at the high level; and review, negotiate, and sign cooperation agreements to create a legal framework for bilateral ties.

Speaking at the session, NA Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn stated that, based on the Law amending and supplementing several articles of the Law on the Organisation of the NA, freshly approved on February 17, the issuance of this resolution is essential to clearly define the specific tasks, powers, and organisational structure of the NA bodies after the restructuring and merger process.
