HCM CITY — The Việt Nam Tennis Federation (VTF) on May 7 introduces ToTEN, a new sport, to the public in HCM City to promote sport exercise and healthy lifestyle.

The event marks a new chapter in VTF's strategy of diversifying sports activities, aiming to build a modern, accessible, dynamic sport suitable for people, especially the youth, families, and the sports-loving community.

Speaking at the event, VTF President Nguyễn Quốc Kỳ says: “ToTEN is not just a new sport, but also a modern fitness trend where people can connect, improve their health, and enjoy a positive sporting spirit. We expect ToTEN to quickly spread strongly in the community, especially among young people.”

VTF staff also spreads general information about ToTEN such as rule and key features while highlights its high entertainment value and easy accessibility for all ages. With the spirit of "Smart Play – Full Power Play," ToTEN offers a dynamic, fast-paced sports experience that emphasises agility, reflexes, and community connection.

The event becomes more vibrant with the participation of guests who are beauty queens and beauty pageants' contestants, athletes who join in direct interactive challenge with the audience.

VTF expects ToTEN, a new and highly community-oriented sporting activity, will contribute to promoting physical activity, building a healthy lifestyle, and creating more dynamic playgrounds for Vietnamese people in the future.

ToTEN is a racket sport that was born following experience and research of VTF's experts based on rules, techniques and playing style of tennis, pickleball and typti.

After about seven months of blending, ToTen is launched with the view to not only bring a new sport to the community but also make tennis more accessible to people.

ToTEN is played in small size court, using mini tennis rackets and soft balls. The scoring system is like tennis.

This sport allows players to only serve once, helping the match to be fast, clear, and reducing dead time. Meanwhile low serves to waist level helps players easily perform, reducing the excessive advantage of people with strong serves, and at the same time reducing the risk of shoulder injuries.

Players can only use rackets to bring the ball over the net; hands, feet, body or any body parts are not accepted. ToTEN balls are high-class soft and light rubber balls. — VNS
