While trade and investment are already robust, significant potential remains for even greater partnerships between the two governments and businesses of Việt Nam and Japan.

The decision comes after a vote during the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly where 404 out of 469 (83.3 per cent) deputies favoured bringing forward the effective date of the three laws.

The leader noted that Việt Nam regards digital transformation as a strategic choice and a top priority for rapid, sustainable development.

The section has a total length of 128.8km and investment of VNĐ25.54 trillion (US$1 billion).

The amendment will take effect from January 1 next year.

This is the first official trip by a high-ranking Vietnamese official since the two nation set up their comprehensive strategic partnership in 2022, while 2024 is the third consecutive year that high-level visits are arranged between the two countries which illustrate their close relationship.
