In his address to AIPA representatives, the Vietnamese PM called for specific directions and drastic actions to build a connected, self-reliant, sustainable, and inclusive ASEAN Community.

The leader said that ASEAN must adopt a more proactive approach in leveraging growth drivers, opportunities, digital transformation, green development, climate change response and numerous other potential areas for collaboration.

Looking ahead to 2025, Vũ Hồng Thanh, Chairman of the National Assembly Economic Committee, emphasised the need for measures to promote sustainable growth, focusing on enhancing internal capacity and macroeconomic stability.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính offered several key strategic directions for ASEAN moving forward during his remarks at the summit.

About 100,000 Vietnamese people are living, working and studying in Laos.

Defence-security remains an important pillar in the Việt Nam-Lao-Cambodia partnership, leaders of the three countries remarked, adding that economy-trade-investment collaboration has recorded strong progress.

Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Đức Phớc urged the international community to better leverage scientific and technological achievements; foster innovative mindset; and find new solutions, methods, and concrete actions in a global, inclusive, and people-centered direction.

Vietnamese Consul General in Fukuoka Vũ Chi Mai pledged to support the NIC and the Ministry of Planning and Investment in seeking Japanese partners to help Việt Nam build and implement the hydrogen energy policy.

They agreed to continue to deepen the bilateral relationship in a practical, sustainable and long-term manner, making positive contributions for a strong ASEAN.

They have been properly implementing their cooperation agreement, especially the compilation and publication of a book on the 50-year relationship between the two NAs that will help enhance people’s awareness of the special Việt Nam-Laos ties.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bùi Thanh Sơn made the remark while attending the ASEAN high-level meetings in Vientiane, Laos.

Both leaders affirmed that they always attach importance and give top priority to the enhancement of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Việt Nam and Laos.

During the trip, the leader conducted nearly 80 bilateral and multilateral activities.

The visit is made at the invitation of Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính.

During the meeting, he congratulated Laos, the chair of ASEAN in 2024, on the successful organisation of the bloc’s important events.

ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN BIS) is the largest annual business-related forum in Southeast Asia, organised by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council within the framework of the ASEAN Summit.

PM Chính emphasised that ties between the two countries have reached the highest level of mutual trust, with increasingly effective cooperation in multiple areas.

The strong cultural ties between the two countries and the sustainable development of the India – Việt Nam traditional relationship were highlights of the ceremony commemorating Việt Nam's National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2024).
