The UN General Assembly’s 11th Emergency Special Session on the Ukrainian situation was held on Monday.

PM Ardern said the target of US$2 billion in two-way trade before 2025 is reachable.

The Prime Minister pledged to continue support for Việt Nam to improve the quality of some fruits for better access to international markets.

Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng Trọng also said Việt Nam attaches importance to relations with New Zealand in its foreign policy, which has become a strategic partnership since 2020.

Chancellor Scholz affirmed Germany treasures the bilateral Strategic Partnership, as well as Việt Nam’s international role and position, including its role in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The agreement was announced at a press briefing following discussions between PM Chính during Chancellor Scholz's official visit to Việt Nam.

PM Chính stressed the need to prioritise promoting economic recovery based on sustainable development, open trade and smooth supply chains.

Participants exchanged multi-dimensional views on prospects and challenges to the global economy, impacts on the region, and ASEAN’s vision and development orientations to ensure comprehensive recovery and lay the foundation for sustainable, resilient, and inclusive development.

The German leader has been accompanied by Secretary of State and Federal Government Spokesman Steffen Hebestreit, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Franziska Brantner, German Ambassador to Vietnam Guido Hildner, the Chancellor's foreign policy and national security advisor Jens Ploetner, the Chancellor’s economic policy advisor Steffen Meyer, among others.

Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern will make official visit to Việt Nam from November 14-17.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chính joined leaders of other ASEAN countries and partners at the 25th ASEAN+3 (China, the Republic of Korea, Japan) Summit and other summits with India and Australia in Phnom Penh on November 12.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính led a Vietnamese delegation to attend ASEAN Summits with partners within the framework of the 40th, 41st ASEAN Summits and related meetings in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on November 11.

Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân said the position of women in ASEAN had increased considerably through the promotion of gender equality and women empowerment.

He also put the focus on the strategic connection within the bloc to consolidate the central role of ASEAN.

The Vietnamese leader said that Việt Nam is willing to work closely with Cambodia and other ASEAN countries to ensure the success of ASEAN conferences.
