QUẢNG NGÃI — Serving up a fresh flavour to start the year, the food space One Commune One Product (OCOP) Products fair officially opened on January 1 at Măng Đen Night Economy Zone, launching a series of activities for Măng Đen Culture and Tourism Week 2026, organised by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The opening ceremony was attended by standing vice chairman of the provincial people’s committee Y Ngoc, along with leaders of relevant departments, local authorities, residents and visitors.
Running from January 1 to 4, the fair aims to honour traditional cuisine, promote outstanding OCOP items and create more engaging experiences for visitors to Măng Đen, a popular retreat town in the central highlands.
The event is also designed as a networking platform linking localities, businesses, artisans and tourists, contributing to the development of green and sustainable tourism in Măng Đen and the wider province.

More than 50 booths are taking part, featuring enterprises, co-operatives and household producers from the province and several other localities nationwide. On display is a wide range of high-tech agricultural products, medicinal herbs, processed foods and beverages, OCOP items, traditional dishes and community-based tourism offerings.
Among the highlights are local specialities such as medicinal herbs, Ngọc Linh ginseng wine, Central Highlands herbal products, mushrooms, bird’s nest, coffee, soft drinks and traditional liquors, as well as iconic highland dishes including gỏi lá (leaf salad), cơm lam (bamboo-tube rice) and grilled chicken.

Chairman of Măng Đen Commune People’s Committee Phạm Văn Thắng said that to create a festive and vibrant atmosphere in the first days of 2026, the locality has rolled out a series of cultural and tourism activities to serve residents and visitors.
“These include the Măng Đen agricultural and medicinal products market, running from January 1 to 3 at Măng Đen fair market on Hùng Vương Street, the art programme Măng Đen – A New Day on the evening of January 2 and hands-on experiences in brewing and tasting Măng Đen specialty coffee at Măng Đen Art Garden throughout the New Year period.
“Through these activities, Măng Đen hopes to offer fresh, culturally rich experiences while promoting its strengths in agriculture, herbal medicine and eco-tourism, reinforcing its image as a safe and friendly destination ready to welcome travellers in 2026,” Thắng added.
He also noted that preparations for the new year cultural and tourism programme have been largely completed, with detailed plans in place and close coordination with relevant forces to ensure public order, traffic safety and environmental hygiene during the holiday period. — VNS
