HCM CITY — The HCM City Photography Association (HPA) has kicked off the second International Photography Festival as a playground for professional and amateur photographers from Việt Nam and other countries.
The festival is sponsored by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the Image Sans Frontière (ISF), and the Việt Nam Photography Artists’ Association (VAPA).
It aims to promote HCM City as a creative city imbued with cultural and artistic values, and to strengthen cooperation between Vietnamese artists and international photography organisations.
The festival includes four exhibitions showcasing thousands of photos that reflect a wide range of topics, such as the world and Việt Nam’s nature, landscapes, culture, lifestyle and people, taken by Vietnamese and international photographers.
The highlighted event features the “Photography Without Borders” exhibition, showcasing works by 36 artists from 14 international photography organisations, such as Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Poland, TTürkiye, the US and Australia, and 50 Vietnamese artists, each contributing three of their finest photos.

Đoàn Hoài Trung, chairman of HPA, said, “The ‘Photography Without Borders’ exhibition sends a powerful message that photography is an international language, one that needs no translation but speaks directly to the human heart.
“Every photo displayed today carries a story, a perspective and emotion originating from the creators’ souls. The exhibition not only reflects the rich cultural diversity of the world but also affirms the spirit of creativity, exchange and integration of the Vietnamese photographers’ community.”
The exhibition is open to the public at the HCM City Book Street on Nguyễn Văn Bình Street in Sài Gòn Ward.
The other exhibitions displaying works by artists across Việt Nam are taking place at the Youth Cultural House at 4 Phạm Ngọc Thạch Street in Sài Gòn Ward, and the Union of Literature and Arts Associations at 81 Trần Quốc Thảo Street in Xuân Hòa Ward.
The festival also offers talks on photography, meetings between Vietnamese and international photographers, and a showcase of photography equipment at the Youth Cultural House.
All the activities remain open until November 30.
In addition, the organiser has launched photography symposiums in HCM City from November 27 to December 1, and in Tân Hà Lâm Hà Commune in Lâm Đồng Province from December 1-3, which help photographers find inspiration.— VNS
