HÀ NỘI -- Hà Nội has launched a special programme to drive tourism demand in the capital city.

Responding to the campaign 'Vietnamese people prioritise using Vietnamese goods', the Hà Nội Department of Tourism is organising a programme for tourists to stay at four and five-star hotels in 2025, focusing on the low season and major holidays to attract visitors to enjoy the city's tourism products and services.

Hotels have applied some attractive incentive and discount plans, with many of the packages also including additional packages and services. Among them are some combinations of stays which include food, drinks, even a gala tea party, some with conference rooms, a shuttle to and fro to the hotel, and free early check-in and late check-out.

The Metropole Hanoi Hotel has introduced the 'Enchanted Holiday' package with room incentives and many added amenities, as well as a free tour of the 'Metropole Historic Road and Bomb Shelter' with the hotel historian.

Novotel Hanoi Thái Hà Hotel and Novotel Suites Hanoi have launched the 'Hà Nội Harmony Package' for families (two adults and two children) with a single night stay including breakfast and dinner.

Lotte Hotel Hanoi has a 40 per cent discount on room rates, while L7 Westlake Hotel offers 50 per cent discount on room rates in June, looking to bring a wonderful opportunity to stay, for a good price,  allowing guests, local and from other countries, to enjoy many high-end experiences for either locals or visitors.

The highlight of the programme is the special promotional packages on the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day (June 28).

From June 22 to 29, hotels will offer separate product packages including discounts up to 50 per cent on room rates, along with many additional facilities on offer, for families to relax and experience services, as well as tours to Hanoian scenic spots and destinations, and a chance to enjoy local cuisine and cultural activities.

The promotion is expected to encourage those living locally to try new experiences, some they have never explored before, in the place they live, promoting the trend of more home stay tourism.

But it will also attract more visitors to the city. All are to promote the image and brand of hotels and resorts of Hà Nội and increase the room occupancy rate at four and five star hotels in the city. At the same time, it will help create momentum to spread the development of other economic sectors.

Deputy Director of the Hà Nội Department of Tourism Nguyễn Hồng Minh said the programme has been positively welcomed by many parties including associations, airlines, travel agencies,  transportation companies, destinations and dining, shopping and entertainment establishments. Their cooperation has helped create a comprehensive, accessible, high-quality and more attractive product package for residents and tourists.

The programme is one of the practical applications of the local department to implement the plan on developing the capital's tourism industry in 2025, to accelerate tourism development.

The goal is to welcome 31 million visitors, including more than 7.5 million international travellers, with a target of total revenue from tourism reaching over VNĐ130 trillion (US$5 billion).

It will then create a driving force to spread the development of other industries, actively and effectively contributing to the implementation of the national economic growth target of eight per cent or more, followed by double-digit growth going forward. VNS
