THANH HÓA — Four people were killed and six others injured after a passenger vehicle was involved in a multiple-vehicle collision on the section of the Mai Sơn–Highway 45 Expressway that runs through the central province of Thanh Hóa early on Wednesday.

The accident occurred at around 3.40am in Đồng Tiến Commune, when a tractor-trailer collided with a 15-seat passenger vehicle carrying 11 people. The passenger vehicle then crashed into another tractor-trailer.

The collision left all three vehicles badly damaged and caused major disruption at the scene.

Expressway traffic police worked with local police to secure the area, regulate traffic and launch an investigation into the cause of the accident. — VNS
