HCM CITY — A healthcare event called “Hội Thời Lành” will be organised in HCM City this weekend to help young audiences adopt life-nurturing habits in a clear, scientific, and accessible manner.
Organised by a group of students from the Multimedia Communication Management programme at FPT University HCM City, the event aims to provide foundational knowledge through visual and interactive formats, enabling participants to understand key principles, grasp basic techniques, and apply them to everyday routines.
Additionally, “Hội Thời Lành” creates a hands-on environment where attendees can practice simple methods such as gentle physical exercises, mindful breathing, food identification based on traditional medicine principles, and environmental adjustment.
Through these experiences, the event encourages young people to cultivate proactive self-care habits and prevent lifestyle-related health imbalances.
In recent years, young adults have reported a growing number of health issues associated with modern lifestyles, including chronic stress, sleep deprivation, physical inactivity, neck and shoulder tension, and digestive disturbances.
While these conditions are not typically classified as severe illnesses, their prolonged accumulation can weaken the immune system, increase the risk of chronic diseases, and directly affect academic performance and work productivity.
Nevertheless, many young people tend to underestimate the seriousness of these early warning signs and pay limited attention to preventive healthcare. Additionally, time pressure, fast-paced habits, and reliance on “instant solutions” often push long-term health maintenance to the bottom of their priority list.
Against this backdrop, accessible approaches to proactive, safe, and natural self-care adapted to rapid, urban daily rhythms have become increasingly necessary.
Life-nurturing in traditional medicine has emerged as a noteworthy option. Life-nurturing refers to a preventive health system centred on balance and moderation, encompassing mental regulation, gentle movement, appropriate dietary practices, and environmental harmonisation.
Unlike many high-intensity or time-consuming training methods, life-nurturing is characterised by its simplicity, low cost, adaptability across body types, and its simultaneous impact on overall well-being.
As a result, it offers young people a practical pathway to reduce stress, improve sleep quality, regulate digestion, relieve musculoskeletal discomfort, and maintain physical balance.
However, young people still face various barriers in accessing life-nurturing habits, including a lack of standardised information, limited awareness, difficulty understanding available materials, and widespread misconceptions.
These challenges hinder the integration of life-nurturing into daily life, despite its numerous advantages.
Coming to the event, participants may receive basic pulse assessment and consultation regarding their health condition. The session is conducted by Dr Võ Thùy Bảo Ngọc, the campaign’s principal medical advisor.
Participants will also have a chance to identify unhealthy habits or perceptions affecting their health, receive accurate information on life-nurturing and correct common misconceptions among young people.
An area will be set up to introduce the role of diet in Traditional Medicine and help participants distinguish the yin and yang properties of food in order to build balanced eating habits.
Many other workshops and activities will also be organised at the event, which is organised at Bamos Coffee Bình Khánh Ward, HCM City. — VNS
