Party General Secretary Tô Lâm stressed three strategic breakthroughs to unlock traditional growth drivers and foster breakthroughs in new ones, aiming for double-digit economic growth during 2026–2030.

The first Congress of the Government Party Organisation for the 2025-2030 tenure officially opened at the National Convention Centre in Hà Nội on Monday morning.

With its tradition of solidarity, dynamism and creativity, the HCM City Party Organisation successfully led government efforts, built public unity and achieved major socio-economic goals between 2020 and 2025, creating a solid foundation for the next stage of development.

The congress, the first since the administrative merger, is being held under the motto “Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Breakthrough – Innovation.”

Deputy PM Nguyễn Hoà Bình mentioned the streamlining of political system and reorganisation of administrative units as a highlight in the tenure, noting that this has earned high praise from the international community.

The PM requested that aside from reviewing the outstanding results of the 2020–2025 tenure amid numerous difficulties and challenges, they should point out lessons and shortcomings needing to be addressed. Notably, they should propose breakthrough tasks and measures for successfully implementing the resolution of the coming national congress, thereby ushering in an era of prosperity, civilisation, and happiness for the nation.

PM Phạm Minh Chính underlined the goal of completing more than 100,000 social housing units by the end of 2025, in line with the Government’s Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP on effectively implementing the national housing development strategy.

The delegation expressed their respect and gratitude for the great contributions of President Hồ Chí Minh – the genius leader of the Communist Party of Việt Nam and the Vietnamese people, and an eminent figure of the international communist and workers’ movements.

On that principled basis, the Vietnamese diplomat reaffirmed that all claims and actions by parties in the East Sea must comply with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

There is a photo exhibition, organised by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), which presents more than 500 outstanding photos selected from tens of thousands in the VNA’s archives and from 51 Party committees under the Government Party Organisation.

A ceremony celebrating the National Day of Spain was organised in the central city as part of closer friendship ties between Việt Nam and Spain as well as Đà Nẵng City and Spanish partners after 48 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Na Ngoi boarding school covers an area of about 5.5ha, with a total investment of nearly VNĐ240 billion (US$9.11 million USD) sourced from both the State budget and social contributions.
