HÀ NỘI — Two nationwide competitions launched in Hà Nội on September 28 are giving Vietnamese students opportunities to test their knowledge, showcase their creativity and explore their strengths, as Daesang expands its community-oriented activities in Việt Nam.

The Teen Scholars Daesang Cup 2026 and Daesang School Star 2026 were officially launched at Trưng Vương Secondary School, bringing together organisers, sponsors, teachers and students.

Sponsored by South Korea’s Daesang Group and its brands Daesang Đức Việt, O’Food, Jongga and Nucare Hi-High, the two competitions are designed to give students opportunities to test themselves, develop their thinking and talents, and pursue their interests with greater confidence.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, representatives of the organisers, sponsors and the school highlighted the importance of giving students opportunities to learn, develop and build confidence.

The competitions also aim to encourage young people to explore their abilities and pursue areas that match their interests.

Jeon Chang Keun, General Director of Daesang Vietnam Co., Ltd., said Daesang’s involvement in the programme reflected its long-term presence in Việt Nam and its commitment to contributing to society alongside its business activities.

“Daesang has accompanied Vietnamese consumers for more than 30 years. During that time, we have not only focused on business development but have also continuously sought to bring positive values to Vietnamese society,” he said.

“We believe education is an important foundation for nurturing a generation of Vietnamese young people who are confident, creative and able to adapt to change.”

Jeon said the competitions were launched with that objective in mind, adding that Daesang was pleased to accompany students as they challenged themselves, tried new things and explored their potential.

“Looking further ahead, we hope to nurture a sense of responsibility towards the Vietnamese community,” Jeon said.

The Teen Scholars Daesang Cup 2026 is open to students in grades 6, 7 and 8 and is being held nationwide from September to November.

The competition assesses students’ knowledge and cognitive abilities in three areas: IQ and logic, English, and critical thinking.

The preliminary round runs from September 15 to October 23. Students nationwide can participate online via the competition’s website.

Following the preliminary round, the 100 highest-performing contestants will advance to the final, which is scheduled to take place in Hà Nội in November.

At the final, contestants will face more advanced challenges designed to assess their knowledge, reflexes, confidence and presentation skills.

The competition offers total prizes of up to VNĐ400 million (US$15,000). The champion will receive VNĐ200 million and the runner-up VNĐ50 million, while two third-place winners will each receive VNĐ20 million.

A further 95 prizes will be awarded to outstanding contestants, along with a range of gifts from sponsors.

Running alongside the academic competition, Daesang School Star 2026 gives students in grades 1 to 8 nationwide a platform to showcase their artistic talents, creativity and personalities.

The competition runs from September 15 to October 15. Students can enter individually or in groups and choose from a range of formats, including singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, stage performances and acting, as well as other creative forms.

The competition also includes special awards for videos capturing contestants’ training processes, personalities and individual perspectives.

The categories are Behind The Talent, My World, My Two Sides and Cheer For Me.

The main prizes comprise one first prize worth VNĐ30 million, one second prize worth VNĐ15 million and one third prize worth VNĐ10 million.

Three additional awards – Most Popular Video, Most Creative Video and Most Inspirational Video – are each worth VNĐ5 million.

Through the two competitions, Daesang aims to provide students with opportunities to interact, learn, explore their potential and develop their individual strengths.

The initiative is also part of Daesang’s 30-year journey alongside Vietnamese consumers, as the group seeks to contribute positive values to the Vietnamese community and younger generations.

The two competitions offer different avenues for students to demonstrate their abilities. While the Teen Scholars Daesang Cup focuses on thinking, knowledge and confidence, Daesang School Star provides a broader platform for students to express their creativity and pursue their artistic interests.

Following the opening ceremony at Trưng Vương Secondary School, both competitions have entered their respective competition stages, bringing together students from across the country in activities focused on intellectual development, knowledge, confidence, creativity and artistic expression./.
