The public security forces of Việt Nam and Laos have collaborated to combat transnational drug crimes, human trafficking and improve mutual legal assistance on criminal justice.
Chairing the ninth meeting of the Government Steering Committee for reviewing the implementation of Resolution 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee, which seeks to streamline the political system for greater efficiency and effectiveness on January 11, PM Chính, who is head of the committee, stressed the need to effectively conduct ideological work and ensure appropriate regimes and policies for those affected by the restructuring to maintain solidarity and unity within agencies.

PM Chính said he hopes the former Lao leaders, with their prestige and experience, will continue to support and give opinions to strengthen and deepen the cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries.
During the working trip, PM Chính engaged in nearly 20 activities, covering a diverse range of topics. He held meetings and discussions with all the highest-ranking leaders of the Lao Party, State, and National Assembly, and visited former senior leaders of Laos.
The Lao official emphasised the strong bond and long-standing special relationship between Việt Nam and Laos, which has been forged through difficulties and challenges.
During the visit, Trung paid a courtesy call to former Prime Minister and Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who is also Senior Advisor of the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP), and met with Assistant Secretary-General of the party and Minister of Education Chan Chun Sing.
PM Chính congratulated the Lao Party, State and people on their remarkable achievements over nearly four decades of renewal, noting frequent high-level exchanges aimed at further deepening the Việt Nam -Laos relationship.
PM Chính said their co-operation with the Việt Nam Fatherland Front (VFF), the Việt Nam -Laos Friendship Association (VLFA), and relevant Vietnamese agencies across various sectors have not only bolstered people-to-people exchanges and but also raised the awareness of the special Vietnam-Laos relationship nurtured by Presidents Hồ Chí Minh, Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong, among the public, particularly young generations.
Among the retrieved, one soldier was identified as Hà Cống Thiên from Mai Châu District, Hoà Bình Province. His remains were transferred to the locality for reburial.
Both sides also agreed to strive for bilateral trade turnover of US$5 billion, up from the current $2.2 billion.
The visit will be made at the invitation of PM Phạm Minh Chính.
The park, covering over 30,000 square metres, is located in Xaythany district, an area planned to be a new urban centre following the expansion of the capital. At the heart of the park is a large square and an artificial lake surrounded by green spaces.
At the meetings, both sides reaffirmed their desire to further strengthen and tighten the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and armies. They agreed to implement the contents approved by the Ministries of Defence in the 2025 cooperation plan.
The NA is aiming to transfer all activities from the traditional environment to the digital environment.
