HÀ NỘI — Party General Secretary Tô Lâm on February 18 departed Hà Nội for Washington D.C. to attend the opening session of the Gaza Board of Peace, scheduled to take place from February 18 to 20, 2026.

The visit is made at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, Founding Chairman of the Gaza Board of Peace m.

Joining the Party leader on the trip are General Phan Văn Giang, Politburo member and Minister of National Defence; General Lương Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security; Nguyễn Duy Ngọc, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hà Nội Party Committee; Lê Hoài Trung, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Phạm Gia Túc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Office; Nguyễn Văn Thắng, Party Central Committee member and Minister of Finance; Nguyễn Thị Hồng, Party Central Committee member and Governor of the State Bank of Việt Nam; Lê Mạnh Hùng, Party Central Committee member and Acting Minister of Industry and Trade; Tô Ân Xô, Assistant to the Party General Secretary; and Nguyễn Quốc Dũng, Ambassador of Việt Nam to the United States.

The participation of Việt Nam’s top leader underscores the country’s support for and readiness to contribute to international efforts aimed at promoting peace and development. It also reflects the implementation of cooperation commitments on international issues within the framework of the Việt Nam–US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. VNS
