Malaysian top legislator pays tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh

The Malaysian top legislator’s official visit to Việt Nam on October 22-25 has an important role to play in consolidating and promoting the parliamentary relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Malaysian parliament.

HÀ NỘI — Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia Tan Sri Dato' Johari Bin Abdul, his spouse, and a delegation from the Malaysian lower house paid tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh at his mausoleum in Hà Nội on Wednesday.

The event was also attended by Vice Chairwoman of the Việt Nam – ASEAN Parliamentary Friendship Group Trần Thị Hồng Ân and Malaysian Ambassador to Việt Nam Dato’ Tan Yang Thai.

They then visited the special national relic Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám (Temple of Literature) where they explored the history and development of the first university in Việt Nam that has preserved and honoured the country’s learning tradition.

Built in 1070 under the Lý Dynasty, the Temple of Literature has been a symbol of knowledge and education system of Việt Nam. Boasting ancient architecture and unique humanistic values, the relic site has contributed to enriching the nation’s cultural treasure and has become an attractive cultural destination pulling in throngs of domestic and foreign visitors.
