Hội An Memories Land in the ancient town of Hội An has been voted as the World Leading Cultural Tourism and Entertainment Complex, marking the third award in a row at the World Travel Awards, after two successful honours in 2022-23.

HỘI AN — Hội An Memories Land in the ancient town of Hội An has been voted as the World's Leading Cultural Tourism and Entertainment Complex, marking a third award in a row for the unique offering.

The cultural centre won again at the World Travel Awards, after two successful honours in 2022 and 2023.

CEO of Hội An Memories Land, Thân Thị Thu Huyền, said winning the tourism award for three consecutive years, once again proved the value of the centre in promoting the UNESCO-recognition world heritage of Hội An ancient town.

“We have been building on the uniqueness of the Hội An Memories Land from the difference in tourism innovation on the base of culture and history destination of Hội An. All performances and activities at the leading entertainment centre focus on maintenance and preservation long traditional culture and lifestyle of Hội An, Quảng Nam and Việt Nam,” Huyền said.

“Hội An Memories Land is a trailblazer in development of cultural entertainment industry in line with tourism attraction in the country.”

The arena offers a dazzling spectacle, a combination of art performances and entertainment in the middle of the Thu Bồn River, the first and only combined resort of its kind and a favourite night-time option for tourists visiting Hội An.

The Ký Ức Hội An (Hội An Memories) performance is a 60-minute long show on the 400-year history and development of Hội An during the Đại Việt (Great Việt) State in the 15th-18th century. It faithfully  recreates the the daily life activities of people in Hội An including the silk trade and folk performances of a busy trading port town during the 14th century, all on an open-air stage.

The show was recognised as the leading historical spectacle at the Best Hotels-Resorts Awards by Wanderlust Tips in South Korea and was chosen to be shown at Times Square, New York in the US in 2019.  

The entertainment centre is closely linked with Hội An through the Cẩm Nam Bridge spanning over the Thu Bồn River. A new pedestrian bridge was built to take visitors from Hội An’s Huyền Trân Công Chúa river side street, to the performance stage.
