BẮC NINH — Bắc Ninh Football Club, also known as Bắc Ninh FC, has held a ceremony to mark its departure for the 2026/2027 season of the LPBank V.League 1 and the National Cup.

This will be the first season in which Bắc Ninh Football Club, or Bắc Ninh FC, competes in Việt Nam’s top-tier professional football league.

Just three years after its establishment, the Kinh Bắc-based team has secured two consecutive promotions. After starting in the National Second Division, the club finished as runners-up in the 2025/2026 National First Division and won a place in V.League 1 by coming through the play-offs.

In preparation for the new season, Bắc Ninh FC has made thorough preparations in terms of both personnel and technical expertise.

The club has recruited a number of experienced players who have previously competed in the V.League, including Lê Văn Xuân, Vũ Tiến Long, Nguyễn Văn Công and Lương Hoàng Nam.

The squad also includes Canadian-born Vietnamese midfielder Pierre Lamothe and three Brazilian foreign players.

At 6pm on September 6, Bắc Ninh FC will play its opening match in the 2026/2027 LPBank V.League 1 season away to Sông Lam Nghệ An at Vinh Stadium.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lê Xuân Lợi, Vice Chairman of the Bắc Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, praised the efforts of the coaching staff and players.

He affirmed that V.League 1 is the highest level of professional football in Việt Nam and provides an opportunity for players to develop their resilience, demonstrate their talent and deliver exciting matches, thereby helping promote the image of the people of Bắc Ninh and Kinh Bắc to friends at home and abroad.

The vice chairman assigned three key groups of tasks. The coaching staff and players were asked to uphold team spirit, discipline and the desire to win; compete honestly, fairly and in a civilised manner; and play for the colours of the club and the pride of the people of Bắc Ninh.

Bắc Ninh Football Joint Stock Company and the club’s sponsors were urged to continue their support, ensure suitable facilities and welfare policies, and develop the club in a professional and sustainable manner.

Provincial departments, agencies and local authorities were asked to work closely with the club to prepare infrastructure, security and public order arrangements, medical services and other necessary conditions, ensuring the safety of home matches.
