HÀ NỘI — Sixteen strongest team will vie for the victory trophy in the final round of the National University Championship's (NUC) football tournament — TV360 Cup — from November 18-29.
They have found their slots after nearly one month of qualification competitions in different localities.
They are divided into groups and will compete in the campus stadium of the Hà Nội University of Science and Technology (HUST).
The tournament is organised by the Ministry of Education and Training, in coordination with the Việt Nam University and the Professional Sports Association, and Vietcontent, other units, aiming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the national education industry (1945-2025).
The event is expected to enhance unity and competitiveness within the education sector, promote the school sports movement, and encourage a healthy lifestyle among students.
It also serves as an opportunity for scouts to discover and nurture young football talents, to prepare them for regional and international student sports competitions.
A total of VNĐ210 million (US$8,000) will be given best teams and outstanding players. The champions will take VNĐ80 million while the two runners-up will pocket VNĐ50 million and VNĐ30 million, respectively.
The organisers said the NUC's football tournament was the largest event of student' competition. From this launching pad, many student-players have stepped into the National Football League.
