HÀ NỘI – Vietnam Education Publishing House (VEPH) has inked a cooperation agreement with the Việt Nam – Japan Centre for Cultural and Educational Cooperation Promotion (VJCE) to strengthen coordination in the fields of publishing and, distribution of publications and learning materials to serve the Vietnamese community in Japan.
The signing ceremony was held within the framework of the “Meeting – Exchange for Cooperation in Education between Viet Nam and Japan” held in Hà Nội on July 18.
The signing ceremony marks a milestone in the international expansion process of the publishing house, contributing to fostering educational and cultural cooperation between Việt Nam and Japan while facilitating the delivery of official Vietnamese publications and educational materials to the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Japan.
Both parties agreed to coordinate to distribute and publish VEPH’s products in Japan. At the same time, they will develop cooperation programmes in the fields of education, culture, and knowledge exchange.

A key focus of the agreement is that VEPH has authorised VJCE to act as one of its representative focal points in Japan for the collaborative activities. Accordingly, VJCE will connect with schools, libraries, businesses, and educational organisations in Japan. It will also support the organisation of book introductions, seminars, workshops, book fairs, and programmes to promote a reading culture—not only for the Vietnamese community but also for the general reading public in Japan.
The two parties also agreed to jointly develop publication categories and learning materials that meet the needs of researchers and students in Japan, including children’s books, Vietnamese and Japanese language learning books, Vietnamese-Japanese bilingual books, and various educational and training materials.
In terms of digital transformation, both sides expect to cooperate in developing e-books, audiobooks, digital resource repositories, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in publishing, education, and the development of reading culture.
“The publishing house wishes to bring books containing the essence of human culture, harmoniously combined with national traditions, to Vietnamese people abroad and international friends. We expect that the VJCE, with its prestige, strong capacity, and creativity, will serve as a vital bridge in this humanitarian journey of cultural transfer and acculturation,” said VEPH’s Deputy General Director Ngô Văn Hoan.
VEPH’s establishing a focal point for cooperation in Japan will contribute to enhancing the efficiency of distributing publications and educational materials to the overseas Vietnamese community.
This initiative will support Vietnamese language teaching and learning, contribute to preserving the national cultural identity, and strengthen knowledge connectivity and educational cooperation between Việt Nam and Japan.
The cooperation agreement is implemented based on the guidelines and policies of the Party and State of Việt Nam regarding affairs for overseas Vietnamese, particularly the project "Enhancing the efficiency of Vietnamese language teaching and learning for overseas Vietnamese" and the project "Day for Honouring Vietnamese Language in the overseas Vietnamese community for the 2023–2030 period."
In the coming time, the Vietnam Education Publishing House and VJCE will develop plans to implement the agreement. This will contribute to expanding publishing, distribution, and educational material development activities in Japan, while effectively serving the needs for learning, preserving the Vietnamese language, and promoting national cultural identity within the overseas Vietnamese community.
