HCM CITY — Tân Sơn Hòa Ward in HCM City on Monday launched its “Building a happy ward together” model, marking a new effort to bring Party resolutions and Government policies closer to daily community life in a practical and people-centred manner.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Trương Lê Mỹ Ngọc, secretary of the ward’s Party Committee and chairwoman of the ward’s People’s Council, said the model translates key directives of the Politburo — including breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, private sector development, education and public healthcare — into concrete actions at the grassroots level.

It also aims to realise the goals set by the first Congress of the ward’s Party Committee for the 2025-30 term.

“Major policies only become meaningful when they reach every household, every street and every residential group, and are genuinely felt by local residents,” she said.

The “Happy Ward” model is built on five core task forces: the ward administration; the ward police; the Việt Nam Fatherland Front and mass organisations; the task force preparing for the All-People’s Day on March 15; and the Medcare dermatology clinic.

Together, these groups will work to create a safe, healthy and civilised living environment, strengthening the foundations of a genuinely happy ward.

One of the most notable community partners is the “Ngại hỏi nhưng muốn biết” (Too Shy to Ask but Want to Know) health communication project led by Dr Nguyễn Ngọc Khôi, which focuses on providing accurate information on sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

The project has already reached nearly 1,000 people — including public officials, teachers and students — through direct consultation sessions, demonstrating its relevance and strong community impact.

Dr Khôi said that for healthcare professionals, true happiness comes from seeing patients recover and return to their daily lives, and from being able to contribute meaningfully to community wellbeing.

”The project will continue supporting the ward’s efforts to build a “happy ward” and contribute to a happy HCM City,” he said

Ngọc said the spirit of the model is rooted in simple but meaningful principles: safety in every neighbourhood, a caring and respectful community, a responsive and people-friendly local government, and support for residents facing hardship.

“Happiness is not a slogan — it must be felt,” she said.

She called on all residents, organisations, businesses, schools, religious establishments and social groups to join hands in building a safe, civilised, compassionate and happy Tân Sơn Hòa.

During the launch event, the ward also held a discussion marking World AIDS Day along with online communication activities to promote public health awareness. — VNS
