ĐÀ NẴNG -- Air Regiment 930 under Division 372 today prepared two aircraft along with essential relief goods, ready to carry out rescue flights and deliver supplies to areas in the south central provinces where prolonged heavy rain has caused deep flooding and isolated many communities.
Earlier, Division 372 received instructions from the Air Defence and Air Force Command to be on standby for emergency flights to support residents severely affected by flooding in Gia Lai and Đắk Lắk.
Heavy rain continues across wide areas of the two provinces, cutting off numerous residential zones as water levels rise rapidly, posing a direct threat to people’s lives and property.
In response, Division 372 has made ready two helicopters, a Mi-171 and a Mi-8, together with around two tonnes of food, drinking water and other basic necessities such as dry rations, biscuits, milk, bottled water and life jackets for delivery to isolated communities.
After receiving the mission, the division immediately instructed Regiment 930 to prepare its helicopters and rescue crews so they could take off at short notice and support flood-hit areas across the central region. VNS
