LÂM ĐỒNG — Lâm Đồng Police on Tuesday broke ground on 49 houses for poor and disadvantaged households in the ethnic minority areas of Đam Rông 3 and Trường Xuân communes.
The houses are part of a social programme supporting poor, near-poor and policy-beneficiary families, with total funding of more than VNĐ4.8 billion sponsored by the Việt Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of November this year. The houses will be built to ensure durability and suitability for local natural conditions and cultural practices, providing long-term stability for residents.
Deputy Director of the provincial Police Colonel Huỳnh Ngọc Liêm said the project demonstrates the responsibility and compassion of the public security force towards people in remote areas.
He called on local authorities, businesses and communities to cooperate closely to ensure the project’s effectiveness and transparency. Beneficiaries are also encouraged to take part in supervising the construction process and maintaining the houses after completion.
“This is not only a practical activity to improve living conditions for poor households but also a symbol of solidarity between the police and local people,” Liêm said.
The programme is part of efforts to celebrate major political events, including the upcoming 8th Congress of the Party Organisation of the Central Public Security, the 11th Congress of the Lâm Đồng Party Organisation for the 2025–30 term, and the 14th National Party Congress.
Since the beginning of this year, the Lâm Đồng Police have implemented 542 houses for poor households across the province, helping to enhance social security and stability in ethnic minority communities. —VNS
