HCM CITY — To mark International Women’s Day, Frasers Law Company hosted its inaugural Women in Business Breakfast meeting at The Guest House, Park Hyatt Saigon, on March 7.

Madam Nguyễn Thị Mai Thanh, chairwoman of REE Corporation, and a pillar of the Vietnamese business community, delivered the keynote speech that focused on the strengths that Vietnamese women have exhibited throughout the country’s changing times.

“Through their self-development and professional development, women have become more proactive in developing their knowledge and skills.”

She spoke about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for women in business.

She also received the inaugural ‘Frasers Vietnam Businesswoman of the Year’ award, saying she did so on behalf of businesswomen everywhere.

At the event, special thanks were also given to panel discussions comprising exemplary women from the Vietnamese and international business communities: Cát-Thảo Nguyễn, founder of Global Ready; Trang Bùi, country head of Cushman & Wakefield Vietnam; Gwen Brooker, partner of Frasers Law Company; Irene Ohler, founder of Lightpath Leadership; Châu Tạ, executive director at SC Capital Partners; and Nguyễn Thị Dung, head of legal compliance at SmartNet.

The discussions gave attendees insightful and practical examples about how diversity and inclusion can be practised in business.

In celebrating International Women’s Day, it is important to promote a truly inclusive workplace, Mark Fraser, managing partner of Frasers Law Company, said.

“In our 30 years of practice in Việt Nam, our team has been composed mostly of women, so it is our duty to continue to promote diversity, equity and inclusion not just in business but also in our own communities.” — VNS
