HẢI PHÒNG — The Hải Phòng Journalists' Association in collaboration with the Hải Phòng Press Photography Club hosted a special event on June 8 to mark the reception of a national flag from Trường Sa (Spratly) archipelago and launch a photo exhibition featuring the islands.

The event was a response to the national photo contest "Homeland by the Shore”, coinciding with the 76th anniversary of President Hồ Chí Minh's call for patriotic emulation (June 11) and the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hải Phòng Journalists Association Nguyễn Anh Tú said the association held the contest to contribute to the photo exhibition. Five members of the Press Photography Club were specifically dispatched to Trường Sa to explore the reality and take valuable photos.

From thousands of photos taken by the club members during their trip, the organising board meticulously selected 200 photos, ultimately displaying 80 and featuring over 100 large panoramic photos. These images depict the strong bond between the Hải Phòng community and soldiers and residents stationed on Trường Sa and DK1 platforms, he added. — VNA/VNS
