ĐÀ NẴNG – Bạch Đằng walking street, the first of its kind in the central city of Đà Nẵng, was inaugurated on June 7 in Hải Châu District.
The 1.2km pedestrian street runs from the foot of the Dragon Bridge and APEC Park to Trần Thị Lý Bridge, providing tourists with night-time experiences.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Hải Châu District People's Committee Lê Tự Gia Thạnh said that the street is located in a prime location along the Hàn River, with panoramic views and fresh air.
For a long time, the area has become a popular destination for domestic and foreign tourists. It is also closely associated with the political, economic and cultural life of Hải Châu District in particular and Đà Nẵng City in general.
The walking street opens from 3pm to midnight daily. Coming to the street, residents and tourists can enjoy many unique cultural, artistic, and street art activities, and diverse stalls for shopping, particularly food stalls.
The opening of the walking street is among the city’s efforts in preserving and promoting existing local strengths, boosting the development of the night economy and creating a highlight tourism destination in the city. – VNA/VNS
