KHÁNH HOÀ — A 51-year-old Filipino fisherman was saved by a Vietnamese fishing vessel on May 4 afternoon adrift in waters off the Trường Sa island district in the south-central province of Khánh Hoà.
The distressed fisherman, Allan Maglangit, was rescued by a Vietnamese fishing vessel in the area about 15 nautical miles off Thị Tứ (Thitu) island.
On the evening of the same day, a ship of the Naval Region 4 High Command which was patrolling the waters received information, found the fishing vehicle and received the Filipino fisherman.
In the afternoon of May 6, the naval ship handed over the Filipino fisherman to a Filipino patrol ship at a point 80 nautical miles off Đá Thị island. — VNS
