The world's finest flutists descend on Phú Quốc
The Vietnam International Flute Festival is a non-profit international arts event dedicated to connecting music lovers, nurturing young talent, and celebrating the art of the flute across cultures. Under the theme 'Rise with the Pearl Island – Melody in the Sky', VIFF 2026 has chosen Phú Quốc as its inaugural host city in Việt Nam, turning the island into a gathering place for the global flute community.
This year's festival features an exceptional line-up of internationally acclaimed artists. Among the highlights are Erin Bouriakov, a Grammy Award winner and founder of VIFF, and Sebastian Jacot, winner of numerous prestigious international flute competitions and widely regarded as one of the world's finest flutists.
The jury also includes distinguished performers and music educators Viviana Guzman, Tiong Eng Goh, Meixiang Park, Hiromitsu Abe, Rebecca Viora and Naoko Ishibashi, offering young Vietnamese and international musicians a rare opportunity to learn from and engage with leading figures in the field.

Over six days, Premier Residences Phú Quốc Emerald Bay on Kem Beach will be transformed into a venue where nature and music come together.
Competitors will compete in three categories: Junior Division, MH Division and Young Artist Division, with the top performers recognised at the Winners' Gala Concert. The champion of the Young Artist Division will receive a cash prize of US$1,000, alongside special awards including the Audience Award and prizes sponsored by renowned flute maker Flutes and Flutists.
Alongside the competition, a rich programme of masterclasses at Fundamental, Master and Artist levels, together with concerts, ensemble performances, instrument exhibitions and the gala concert 'When the Wind Sings', will create an open platform for cultural exchange, nurture the next generation of musicians, and support the long-term development of flute performance.
A new home for international culture and the arts
Beyond its reputation as one of Asia's leading resort destinations, Phú Quốc is steadily building a new identity as a hub for international cultural, artistic and entertainment events.

In recent years, the southern part of the island has seen its cultural and creative landscape continue to expand, from iconic landmarks and large-scale international performances to creative spaces such as the Kiss Bridge, Kiss of the Sea, Symphony of the Sea, Sun Signature Gallery, the Campanile Clock Tower and Apollo Square.
A year-round calendar of festivals and artistic programmes has made culture an integral part of the island's identity, enriching the visitor experience beyond traditional resort tourism.
Against this backdrop, VIFF's selection of Phú Quốc as its first host destination in Việt Nam is not only a milestone for the festival itself but also reflects the island's growing profile on the international cultural and artistic map.
