HÀ NỘI — National carrier Vietnam Airlines has signed a co-operation agreement with Sabre Corporation aimed at improving the efficiency of aviation technology.
The agreement, which was signed in the Australian city of Sydney yesterday, expands the operational scale of the SabreSonic passenger service system currently used by Vietnam Airlines. The move is expected to help meet passenger demand and enhance the airline’s operations.
Sabre, an American supplier of technological solutions for aviation, hotels, and tourism, has also committed to support Vietnam Airlines in meeting International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards for distribution technology through the use of advanced technology to accelerate the development of mobile applications.
Dave Shirk, President of Sabre Airline Solutions, said Sabre’s technological solutions would help Vietnam Airlines become more competitive in the Asia-Pacific market.
Vietnam Airlines and Sabre Corporation had a long history of co-operation, which had resulted in impressive results. Sabre would continue to assist Vietnam Airlines in its journey to becoming one of the largest airlines in the region by helping it meet the requirements needed to do so, Shirk said. — VNS
