HCM CITY Việt Nam is among the top destinations in Asia that travellers can't seem to get enough of and wish to revisit, as indicated by the recent Return Visitor Ranking report by Agoda.
Alongside Việt Nam, Thailand and Japan are also popular choices for travellers looking to return to their favourite spots.
Agoda's survey highlighted that 44 per cent of Asian travellers identified "Ease of Travel" as the primary reason for returning to their preferred destinations. The report mentioned, Japan, Thailand and Việt Nam are destinations that continue to captivate Asian travellers.
For Vietnamese travellers, one visit to Thailand is simply not sufficient. Approximately 75 per cent of Vietnamese travellers express a desire to revisit their favoured destinations. The survey, conducted on the Agoda platform this month, identified Thailand, Japan, and South Korea as top destinations for returning visitors, followed by Singapore and China.
The majority of Vietnamese respondents, around 47 per cent, cited 'adventure' as their main motivation for their upcoming trips. Additionally, about 39 per cent are travelling for culinary experiences, while 26 per cent are drawn by arts and culture.
Among repeat visitors, 64 per cent have frequented their preferred destinations between one and three times over the past decade, constituting the largest group of returning travellers. Surprisingly, 8 per cent have visited their favourite spot 10 times or more.
Vũ Ngọc Lâm, Agoda's country director in Việt Nam, remarked, "While some travellers enjoy exploring new horizons, others derive immense joy from revisiting their favourite destinations. The Agoda Return Visitor Ranking highlights that for Vietnamese travellers, Thailand, Japan and South Korea offer experiences that hold a special place in their hearts."
When discussing the irresistible allure of their favourite destinations, Vietnamese travellers cited ease of travel, local cuisine, and convenient location as the top three reasons. Safety, cleanliness, and positive past experiences also factor significantly in their decision to return.
The Return Visitor Ranking survey was conducted on the Agoda platform from August 1 to 19, 2024, with over 4,000 participants from 10 markets, including Indonesia, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Việt Nam. VNS
