HÀ NỘI — Võ Thanh An performed solo in the last 40km to win the sixth stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Cup on Thursday.

An from RDCO Vĩnh Long finished first in the 133km stage from Đà Nẵng to Quảng Ngãi with a time of 3:27.55.

It is the first time An has won a stage in this annual tournament.

Lê Nguyệt Minh of MM MegeMarket and Lê Văn Duẩn of VUS-HCM City were the runners-up.

Nguyễn Tấn Hoài of Domesco Pharmacy Đồng Tháp won the green jersey award as the best sprinter.

Although Huỳnh Thanh Tùng of Military Zone 7 didn’t rank in top three in this stage, he still defended his yellow jersey for the best overall time after six stages.

Today, cyclists will compete in the seventh stage from Quảng Ngải City to Quy Nhơn City, lasting 179km.

The event featured 13 teams, competing over 17 stages with a total length of 2,002 km.

It will end on April 30 to mark the 43rd anniversary of Southern Việt Nam’s liberation and Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-2019). — VNS
