HÀ NỘI — Lộc Trời Group will ink a contract with cyclist Mirsamad Pourseyedi of Iran ahead of the upcoming HCM City Television Cup Cycling tournament.

Mirsamad Pourseyedi is Iran’s current national champion.

The 33-year-old cyclist is the most decorated foreign rider ever to race for a team in Việt Nam. He won six overall yellow jersey awards in great events in Asia including Langkawi Nature Cycling Tour in Malaysia and Tour de Banyuwangi in East Java, Indonesia.

At the Asian Cycling Championship in 2017, Pourseyedi ranked 10th, two places better than Vietnamese cyclist Trịnh Đức Tâm.

The HCM City Television Cup Cycling tournament is scheduled to take place on April 12 and finish on April 30.

Participants will compete across 17 stages totaling 2,002km.

Last year, the event had a total prize purse of nearly VNĐ3 billion (US$130,400). — VNS
