HÀ NỘI — Defender Nguyễn Hữu Anh Tài of Hoàng Anh Gia Lai will play for Uijeongbu FC of South Korea on a one-year loan deal after an agreement between the two sides was released yesterday.
The former national U19 player is expected to leave for his new club by the end of this month.
Uijeongbu play in the K3 Basic League, the fourth tier of South Korean football. In 2016 the club finished bottom of the K3 League and were relegated.
President and head coach Kim Hee-tae of Uijeongbu sent a letter to Hoàng Anh Gia Lai FC and invited the 21-year-old Tài to play with his team, saying that Tài would have the chance to develop rapidly in Korean football.
Kim was the South Korean national coach in 1987.
Tài played only two matches last season. He is a graduate of the Hoàng Anh Gia Lai-Arsenal JMG Academy’s second generation. He was a member of the national U19 team who came second at the ASEAN championship in 2014. — VNS
