Việt Nam women win at international beach volleyball tournament

NHA TRANG — Việt Nam’s women’s team triumphed at the Nha Trang International Men’s and Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament, the Sanest, Sanvinest Khánh Hòa Cup 2025 concluded in Nha Trang City, Khánh Hòa Province, on Monday.

In the final, Nguyễn Lê Tường Vy and Nguyễn Thanh Tâm overcame Indonesia in three intense sets. Competing under the Sanest Khánh Hòa banner, the pair rallied after losing the first set to secure victory.

The win not only earned them a gold medal but also secured an official spot at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, scheduled for later this year in Thailand.

Thailand claimed the bronze medal in the women’s category.

On the men’s side, Indonesia dominated the tournament, emerging as champions after a decisive victory over Thailand in the final. Việt Nam secured third place with a strong performance that impressed spectators.

The tournament featured 32 teams (16 men’s and 16 women’s) from six regional countries, competing under regulations set by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

The total prize pool reached nearly $24,000. In addition to the main awards, organisers presented special prizes, including Best Referee Team and Miss Beach Volleyball.

As part of the 2025 Sea Culture and Tourism Festival, the tournament aimed to establish Nha Trang as an internationally recognised annual beach sports brand.

It also contributed to the goal of developing Khánh Hòa into a regional hub for tourism, services, and marine sports. —VNS
