Lộc, Hoa win first Sơn Kim Thủ Đức City Run

The run was one of the activities to celebrate the National Day on September 2 and was expected to make Thủ Đức a destination for running lovers while encouraging local people to take part in sporting activities.

HCM CITY — Lê Hữu Lộc and Hoàng Thị Ngọc Hoa won the Sơn Kim Thủ Đức City Run on September 3 at the Metropole Thủ Thiêm Urban Area, Thủ Đức City, HCM City.

The run was the first annual tournament of the new city, which saw around 4,000 athletes competing in the 5km, 10km and half marathon along with two distances of 3km and 1.5km for the children.

Lộc came first in the men's half marathon category in a time of 1hr 14.16min. He was followed by Lê Văn Tuấn (1:14.22) and Lê Tấn Hi (1:17:31).

Hoa crossed the finish line of the women's half marathon after 1:22.18. Two runners-up were Lê Thị Kha Ly (1:27.14) and Lê Thị Bích (1:27.58).

In the 21km Open classes, famous amateur runner Đặng Anh Quyết took the men's title by running 1:19.17 and Nguyễn Thị Phương Trinh won the women's gold clocking 1:31.42.

Earlier, Trương Trí Tâm (34.07min) and Khuất Phương Anh (39.58) championed in the men's and women's 10km pools, respectively.

Nguyễn Chí Kiên (16.04) and Nguyễn Thị Thùy Dương (20.29) were winners of the men's and women's 5km events.

According to the organisers, despite being the first time the event was held, the Sơn Kim Thủ Đức City Run's routes were measured and received official certificates from the Marathon Association and the World Athletics Federation.
