Nguyễn Huỳnh Phú VInh gót hís career high with 28 points, 25 rebounds and 5 assists to help the Heat win over Danang Dragons

HCM CITY - The Saigon Heat enjoyed another victory at home against the Danang Dragons on Wednesday (August 30) at CIS gymnasium, District 7, HCM City. 

Coach Matt Van Pelt of the Heat decided to trust his local players in this match. Both of the team's main scorers, Kentrell Barkley and Hassan Thomas, were on the bench for the whole match. 

This was a very wise decision of the coach, as the result of this match did not affect the team's position on the standings. 

In addition, their core players had more time to rest, and the local players had a great chance to prepare for the playoffs next week.

Nothing unexpected happened in the first two quarters as the Heat's local players controlled the game well and created a 15-point lead (54-39) before the break thanks to Dư Minh An, Tim Waale and Nguyễn Huỳnh Phú Vinh.

Enter the third quarter, Nguyễn Anh Kiệt and Jermaine Marrow of the Dragons had an explosive performance with multiple three-point shots. 

This helped the guests equalise the score (61-61) and even take the lead 71-64 at the end of the third quarter. 

The Heat fought back in the last quarter. 

Thanks to Minh An's eight points and Phú Vinh's clutch shot in the last minute, the Heat took the victory with a score of 86-82. 

Nguyễn Huỳnh Phú Vinh won the Player of the Game award with his career high 28 points, 25 rebounds and 5 assists. 

Dư Minh An also had an explosive performance with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. VNS
