HCM CITY — The Việt Nam Tennis Federation (VTF) has officially named five players from the national team who will compete in the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group III – 2025 after a selection ended on June 15 in HCM City.

After seven days of competitive matches, Phạm La Hoàng Anh, Đinh Viết Tuấn Minh and Nguyễn Minh Phát overcame four others to take their slots.

They will join senior players Nguyễn Văn Phương and Vũ Hà Minh Đức to make a dream team at the tournament, which will be held on July 14-17 in the Hanaka Paris Ocean Park in Bắc Ninh Province.

Players will begin training next week in HCM City and move to Bắc Ninh to get familiar with the court.

"The selection round shows our professionalism and seriousness in choosing the strongest players for the national team. We believe that with the current squad Việt Nam has reasons to expect a successful Davis Cup," said VTF General Secretary Nguyễn Hồng Sơn.

Việt Nam will entertain teams from Cambodia, Iran, Indonesia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

There will be two pools of five teams. The two pool winners will automatically be promoted to the World Group II Play-offs in 2026. They will be joined by the winner of a promotion play-off between the two teams finishing in second place in each pool.

The two teams finishing in fifth place in each pool will be relegated to Asia/Oceania Group IV in 2026.

Also during the selection, VTF signed a contract with AP Sports Club in which the two sides would cooperate to organise the VTF Pro Tour 100 and VTF Pro Tour 200 in August, with further information to be released soon. — VNS
