NINH BÌNH — Phù Đổng Ninh Bình Football Club were officially crowned the champions of the 2024/25 V.League 2 season over the weekend, earning the right to compete in V.League 1.

The team demonstrated their strength with a 3-0 victory against Trường Tươi Bình Phước Club in their penultimate match at home.

Under the enthusiastic cheers of the crowd, Ninh Bình delivered an outstanding performance. Đỗ Thanh Thịnh scored a goal in the 39th minute, followed by a brace from Lê Minh Bình in the 65th and 90th minutes, as captain Nguyễn Hoàng Đức provided a classy assist.

Following the final whistle, a coronation ceremony was held amid a sea of flags and resounding applause. This marks the first time Ninh Bình have won the First Division championship and secured a spot in the national premier league for next season.

Ninh Bình had an exceptional season, finishing with 18 wins, one draw and no losses. They scored 38 goals and conceded only two, totalling 55 points after 21 matches, 14 points ahead of Trường Tươi Bình Phước in second place.

In the final match of the season, Ninh Bình will face Đồng Tháp on June 21. A victory would complete an almost perfect season, boosting their confidence as they head into V.League 1. Notably, goalkeeper Đặng Văn Lâm played 18 out of 19 matches this season, keeping 16 clean sheets and conceding only two goals.

Meanwhile, their loss to the top team means Trường Tươi Bình Phước now face uncertainty regarding their playoff prospects for V.League 1. With 41 points after 21 matches, they are just one point ahead of PVF-CAND.

In the final match, both Trường Tươi Bình Phước and PVF-CAND have the advantage of playing at home. Bình Phước will host Long An, while PVF-CAND face Đồng Nai. The results of these matches will determine the final playoff spot for V.League 1.

On the other end, despite recently winning 1-0 against HCM City, Huế Football Club cannot avoid relegation. With 16 points after 21 matches, they are level with Hòa Bình on points but trail on head-to-head record, and will officially bid farewell to V.League 2. VNS
