HÀ NỘI — National football captain Huỳnh Như has extended her contract with Portuguese side Lank FC for another year.
Details of the deal are not revealed but it is reported that the Vietnamese player's salary will be increased compared to her current 1,500 euros (1,634) per month.
Như joined Lank last August, helping the club climbing from No 10 in the previous season to No 6 this season. She is the No 2 scorer of the team with seven goals in all domestic competitions.
Như's impressive performance is the key element that drove Lank to extend her contract for one more year.
The 32-year-old forward and her club will begin their new season on September 17 against Sporting Lisbon. They set a target of narrowing their gap with the leading group that gathers powerhouses Braga and Benfica.
As the result, Như might not join the national team of Việt Nam at the 19th Asian Games in China. Việt Nam will play Nepal on September 22. VNS
