According to the Việt Nam Nurses Association, nurses make up the majority of medical personnel in all worldwide health systems, accounting for up 59 per cent of the workforce, but according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Health's 2020 Health Statistics Yearbook, nurses make up just 39 per cent of all health workers here.
