HÀ NỘI — The Police Department of Đà Nẵng City is prosecuting a man for illegally helping foreigners enter Việt Nam.

Nguyễn Trần Anh Tuấn, 34, from Lê Văn Thứ Street, Sơn Trà District was arrested after police found 14 South Korean citizens in Ngũ Hành Sơn District on April 24 with incorrect paperwork.

After an initial investigation, the police found evidence of a smuggling ring allegedly run by Tuấn.

He is accused of collaborating with South Korean citizen, who is the director of a company registered to operate in Việt Nam, to run the illegal operation.

Tuấn allegedly established three ghost companies to guarantee entry for those who wanted to work in Việt Nam as experts.

His South Korean accomplice is accused of posted advertisements via social networking sites in South Korea to find people who wanted to enter Việt Nam to do business with the full cost of US$2,500, including air tickets and quarantine fees.

As a result, many South Korean citizens registered. Tuấn was allegedly paid $200 for each person he helped.

On Wednesday, the police searched headquarter of the three companies legally represented by Tuấn : J.D.K General and Trading One Member Limited Liability Company at 84 Nguyễn Văn Thoại Street, Mỹ An Ward, Ngũ Hành Sơn District; DK Global General and Trading One Member Limited Liability Company and Guppo Company Limited in Vương Thừa Vũ Street, Mân Thái Ward, Sơn Trà District.

Tuấn has been remanded in custody as investigations continue. — VNS
