Safe lane to set at road-railway cross in Đà Nẵng

Đà Nẵng plans to build a 1.2km safe lane for local residents at railroad crossing sites along a section of the north-south railway system from Hòa Cầm flyover bridge to Cầu Đỏ bridge in Cẩm Lệ district, with total investment of VNĐ39 billion (US$1.7 million).

ĐÀ NẴNG — Đà Nẵng plans to build a 1.2km safe lane for local residents at railroad crossing sites along a section of the north-south railway system from Hòa Cầm flyover bridge to Cầu Đỏ bridge in Cẩm Lệ District, with total investment of VNĐ39 billion (US$1.7 million).

The city aims to complete the 5m wide lane in 2019 to offer safe passage for people living along the tracks through the city.

The city has already completed a section from Huế Junction to Hòa Cầm flyover with funds of VNĐ26 billion ($1.1 million).

According to the city’s transport department, Đà Nẵng has approved a plan for safe traffic at railway crossings with total length of 5.5km and funds of VNĐ145 billion ($6.4 million).

In 2015, the city put into operation a three-level rail and road flyover at Huế Junction.

The national railway system runs 25km through Đà Nẵng, creating seven crossings.

Đà Nẵng plans to move the railway station from the city’s centre to suburban Liên Chiểu District in 2022. — VNS
