LONDON — During a recent working visit to the United Kingdom, Vietnam Education Publishing House (VEPH) expanded cooperation with leading partners in educational publishing, copyright, technology and digital resources.

Led by Nguyễn Tiến Thanh, Chairman of the Members’ Council and Director General of VEPH, the delegation sought to strengthen international partnerships, explore emerging trends in modern educational publishing, and support the development of Vietnamese-language learning materials for overseas Vietnamese communities.

During the May 19–21 visit, the delegation held working sessions with organisations specialising in educational publishing, educational technology, digital learning resources and copyright management.

At a meeting with Oxford University Press, the two sides exchanged views on organisational models, digital product ecosystems and innovations in global educational publishing.

VEPH and Oxford University Press have cooperated for nearly a decade in English-language publishing, including the Friends English textbook series for Grades 1–12 under Việt Nam’s 2018 General Education Curriculum. The series has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training and widely adopted nationwide.

Building on this long-standing partnership, both sides discussed opportunities for further cooperation amid ongoing reforms in Việt Nam’s education sector.

The delegation also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK to discuss demand for Vietnamese-language publications among the Vietnamese community, particularly younger generations.

VEPH shared updates on programmes supporting Vietnamese-language teaching abroad, including digital textbook provision, participation in the “Vietnamese Bookshelf” initiative and training programmes for overseas Vietnamese-language teachers.

During a meeting with Efekta Education Group, the two sides explored the application of artificial intelligence, digital technologies and EdTech solutions in foreign language teaching and learning.

Following a memorandum of understanding signed in January 2026, VEPH and Efekta have jointly implemented the Happy Learning Lab programme, combining VEPH’s “Happy Reading” English-language content with Efekta’s AI-powered learning platform.

The delegation also worked with Shutterstock to discuss image and video copyright solutions, digital asset management and the application of generative AI in education.

According to VEPH, the discussions provided practical insights to support the publisher’s ongoing digital transformation in publishing, editorial activities and educational resource development.

UK partners expressed interest in expanding future cooperation with VEPH through new projects and educational products.

Stephen Hodges, Chief Executive Officer of Efekta Education Group, described Việt Nam as a market with significant potential and called VEPH “a trusted and highly reputable partner”.
