ĐÀ NẴNG — Australia has brought its first digital skills roadshow to central Việt Nam, highlighting study pathways and training opportunities in fast-growing technology fields as both countries seek to strengthen education links and prepare a future-ready workforce.
The Australian Trade and Investment Commission, or Australian Trade and Investment Commission, delivered the first Australian Digital Skills Roadshow 2026–Việt Nam, a one-day public showcase of Australian expertise in digital education and training held in the central city.
The event formed part of the wider Australia Southeast Asia Digital Skills Roadshow, held across four countries, Indonesia, Thailand, Việt Nam and the Philippines, from March 2–10, underscoring Australia’s commitment to supporting digital skills development and workforce readiness across the region.
The roadshow aimed to create opportunities for mutually beneficial education and training partnerships, expand student mobility and strengthen economic ties and people-to-people connections in support of shared prosperity and future workforce needs.
Representatives from 25 Australian universities and institutions took part, highlighting Australia’s capabilities across the full student journey: from study pathways and scholarships to employability outcomes in high-value digital sectors such as Industry 4.0, advanced ICT, quantum technologies, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data science and analytics and cybersecurity.
The event attracted Vietnamese students, parents, universities and school representatives from the city and neighbouring provinces, who engaged directly with Australian institutions and gained first-hand information about academic programmes, tuition fees, living costs, entry requirements and the application process.
Alongside face-to-face consultations, students and parents attended seminars offering practical guidance on studying and living in Australia, employability and digital skills, a masterclass on artificial intelligence, Australian government scholarship programmes and student visa application procedures.

Emma McDonald, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner to Việt Nam and Cambodia, said: “The Australian Digital Skills Roadshow reinforces Australia’s commitment to a shared future with Việt Nam that supports employability, innovation and economic growth. By working closely with our institutional partners, Australia aims to deliver education and training pathways that are responsive to Việt Nam’s digital transformation.”
Australia is home to more than 45,000 Vietnamese students and has an extensive network of over 160,000 Vietnamese alumni from Australian education institutions. This community continues to contribute to Việt Nam’s economy across a wide range of sectors. By equipping students with future-ready digital skills and supporting the responsible integration of technology and AI, Australia and Việt Nam can help build a prosperous, inclusive and resilient digital future for future generations.
